Tamsin Lear - East Devon and London, UK
Tamsin Lear is a colourist working in an expressive style. Her studio practice is in the Farway Valley, nr Sidmouth in East Devon, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The Farway and nearby Jurassic Coast have become the work - layered, physical and built over time.
Tamsin hopes to make paintings that feel physically present; a refuge for quiet looking. She does not paint a specific landscape. Her paintings unfold, evoking a sense of place, its spirit - an attunement to light, texture and atmosphere.
